Description
Coal Creek is located heads at glacier terminus and flows NW to Matanuska River, 26 mi. NE of Palmer, Chugach Mts.
History
Descriptive name reported in 1898 by Mendenhall (1900, p. 324), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). So named "because of coal outcrops in the bed of the stream."
