Description
Snag Flats is located in lower course of Skwentna River, 8 mi. upstream from Yentna River and 55 mi N of Tyonek, Alaska Range
History
Named in 1898 by Spurr (1900, p. 48), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), who said, "nearly every channel was choked with dead trees, so that we gave the place the name of Snag Flats."
