Description
Hat Island is located in Iliamna Lake, 2.5 mi. SE of Chekok Point and 21 mi. E of Iliamna, Aleutian Range. 0.7 mile long.
History
So named locally, because it resembles the shape of a prospector's hat. Name published by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in 1954.
