Description

On the Alaska Peninsula, 1.6 km (1 mi) S of Becharof Lake and 12.9 km (8 mi) NW of Mount Peulik.

History

Ukinrek is and Eskimo word meaning "two holes". The craters are two phreatomagmatic explosion vents that formed in 1977. The western crater is elliptical in shape while the larger eastern crater is circular. Both maars have crater lakes.
