Yantarni Bay is located on S coast of Alaska Peninsula, NE of Cape Kunmik, Aleutian Range
History
So named by the Russians because of the reported occurrence of "yantar"; or "amber"; here; published in French as "Baie d'Ambre Jaoune" by von Krusenstern" (1827, map 20), IRN, and as "Z(aliv) Yantarniy" by the Russian Hydrographic Dept. on Chart 1379 in 1847.
