name originally reported as Devil Bay by a 1920 U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) party and published as Devils Bay by W. R. Smith and A. A. Baker (in Brooks and others, 1924, map 8), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
