Description
Poltes Slough is located channel of Yukon River, extends N and W of Moonlight Point and Arbor I., NW of Marshall, Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta.
History
Riverboat pilots name. So named for Captain Otto Polte, a steamboat captain who died in Seattle about 1940, and reported on a fieldsheet by R.H. Sargent, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), dated 1916.
