History
Name published by .tl Sarichev (1826, map 4), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), as "GUBA Pastol" or "Pastol Bay"; named for an early explorer or trader of the area. Petroff (U.S. Bur. Census, 1880, map) reported the name as "Pastoli."
