History
This name is a partial transliteration by US@C&GS of the name "M(ys) Kamenistoy Laidy," meaning "Cape Rocky Reef," given by Sub. Lieutenant Murashev, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), in 1839 or 1840 and published by the Russian Hydrographic Dept. on Chart 1425 in 1849. The Russian word "laida," meaning "bank" or "shoal," was published for this feature by Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 7) Imperial Russian Navy (IRN).
