Description
Afognak Lake is located on Afognak I., 8 mi. NW of Afognak, Kodiak I. 5.5 miles long.
History
Name derived from Afognak Island; published in 1910 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS). The Russian name "Litnik" was reported in 1900 by Lieutenant Commander Moser, U.S. Navy (USN). See Litnik, locality.
