History
A translation of the transliterated name "Horboon" (from "gorbun"), given to this feature in 1804 by Captain Lisianski (1814, p. 142), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN). Called "Kamen Gorbun Morskoy," meaning "humpback sea rock," by Lieutenant Sarichev (1826, map 16), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), and "The Humpback" or "Sugarloaf Rock" by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1869.
