Bear Island is located on NW coast of Kodiak I., 17 mi. NE of Karluk. 0.4 mile across.
History
Named in 1897 by Lieutenant Commander Moser, U.S. Navy (USN), commander of the U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) steamer Albatross.
