Description
Zapadni Point is located on NW coast of Spruce I., NE of Kodiak I.
History
Transliteration of "M(ys) Zapadniy" a name given by Murashev in 1839 or 1840, and published in 1849 on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1425. Baker (1906, p. 668) published "West Cape," the translation Murashev's name. Because of duplication the name was changed to its present form by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1909.
