Katmai Bay is located at mouth of Katmai Rier, on E coast of Alaska Peninsula in Katmai National Monument, 17 mi. S of Mount Katmai, Aleutian Range
History
Eskimo name reported in 1828 as "Katmaiskoi golfe" by Captain Lutke (1836, p. 276), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN); Admiral von Krusenstern (1827, map 17), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), published "Baie Katmay."
