History
Named in 1883 by Lieutenant Commander H. E. Nichols, U.S. Navy (USN). Punch and Judy Hills are nearby; "Punch" and "Judy" traditional names of the principal characters in the puppet show in which the husband quarrels with his wife and does outrageous and tragic things in a ludicrous way.
