Tiday waterway forming the boundary between Alaska and British Columbia from the E end of Pearse Island N of Hyder, Alaska, and Stewart, British Columbia, Coast Mountains.

Named by Captain George Vancouver, Royal Navy (RN), August 15, 1793, no doubt after the Duke of Portland (Wagner, 1937, p. 403). See Font, Streights du.
