Sockeye Creek is located heads in a branch of Taku Glacier flows SE to Taku River, 21 mi. NE of Juneau, Coast Mts.
History
Local descriptive name reported in 1932 by B. D. Stewart, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS); the name had been "given for the sockeye salmon which spawn in great numbers in this creek."
