History

Tlingit Indian name associated with the mountain reported in 1926 by H. J. Coolidge. "Mount Distick is a mountain that the Indians say was the place where a" woman "and her son took refuge at the time of the great floods. Only by going to the top of the mountain were they able to survive the water which drowned all other people and flooded the earth."
