Description
Pavlof River is located on E coast of Chichagof I., flows E to Pavlof Harbor, 8 mi. NE of Tenakee Springs, Alex. Arch.
History
Local name reported in 1933 by U.S. Forest Service (USFS); named for Gerasin Vasilovich Pavlov, first assistant to the Russian Governor at the time of transfer of Alaska to the United States in 1867.
