Description
Gypsum Creek is located flows SE to Iyoukeen Cove, 12 mi. NE of Tenakee Springs, on E coast of Chichagof I., Alex. Arch. 5.5 miles long.
History
Name reported by Wright (1908, p. 124), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). "So named because a large deposit of commercial gypsum occurs along the creek." This deposit was extensively developed between 1905 and 1925.
