Zip Rock is located in Glacier Bay National Monument, off N shore of Cross Sound, 0.5 mi. SW of mouth of Dicks Arm, 45 mi. NW of Hoonah, St. Elias Mts.
History
Named by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1929 for the triangulation point Zip on the rock. The rock is useful as a land-mark for entering the harbor.
