Mite Island is located at mouth of Mite Cove, in Lisianski Inlet, on Yakobi I., 1.2 mi. SE of Ewe Ledge, 37 mi. W of Hoonah, Alex. Arch.

Named by J. F. Pratt, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), in 1901 and published in the 1901 Alaska Coast Pilot.
