Cleveland Passage is located extends N along E side of Whitney I., 70 mi. E of Sitka, Coast Mts. 5 miles long.
History
Named in 1887 by Lieutenant Commander C. M. Thomas, U.S. Navy (USN), for Grover Cleveland, 1837-1908, then President of the United States; published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in the 1891 Coast Pilot (p. 145).
