Description
Gedney Channel is located just N of mouth of Port Frederick and 5 mi. NW of Hoonah, Alex. Arch. 0.7 mile wide.
History
Named in 1901 by E. F. Dickins, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), who sounded the passage, for his vessel, the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) steamer Gedney. Name was published in 1904 on Chart 8304.
