History
corruption of a Tlingit Indian word which is appearently another form of "Khutz-n'hu" meaning "bear fort." reported the Indian name for the harbor as "Koteosok" (U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), 1883, p. 176). Killisnoo about 1882.
