Cormorant Rock is located at mouth of Lituya Bay, in Glacier Bay National Monument, 0.1 mi W of Harbor Point, 8.7 mi. NW of Hoonah, Malaspina Coastal Plain
History
Named in 1786 by LaPerouse (1798, atlas 19), as Cormorants Rock. The cormorant is a multicolored ravelike seabird of the family Phalacrocoracidae, several species of which live in Alaska.
