Description
Chilkat Peninsula is located between Chilkat Inlet and Chilkoot Inlet, extends NNW 11 mi. from Seduction Point to Haines, 20 mi. S of Skagway, Coast Mts.
History
Named for Chilkat Inlet by C. W. Wright (1904, p. 9), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). It was called Yayik Peninsula in 1923 by International Boundary Commission (IBC) on map 9 (1951 atlas).
