Eskimo name shown as "Piskut Peak" or "Paviak Peak" on one 1898 fieldsheet by W. S. Post, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), and as "Piskut Mountain" on another. It was published as "Piskuk Peak" by Spurr (1900, map 10), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
