Description
Herron River is located in Denali National Park (formerly Mount Mckinley National Park), flows NW from Herron Glacier to Foraker River, 17 mi. S of village of Lake Minchumina, Tanana Low. 48 miles long.
History
Name derived from Herron Glacier; reported in 1925 by S. R. Capps, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The Tanana Indian name for this stream is said to be "Tsatasronik," meaning "black rock."
