Bearpaw is located on right bank of Bearpaw River, 48 mi. SE of Bitzshtini Mts., Tanana Low.
History
This was a mining camp, established in 1905 and called "Bear Paw City" by prospectors; reported in 1905 by L. M. Prindle, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
