History
Named in 1913 by Archdeacon Stuck (1921 ,p73) for Herschel Clifford Parker, 1867-1931, physicist and mining engineer, who accompanied Belmore Browne on the expedition which nearly succeeded in reaching the summit of Mount McKinley (formerly Denali) in 1912.
