Description
Mount Witherspoon is located in Dora Keen Range, at head of Columbia Glacier, 36 mi. NW of Valdez, Chugach Mts.
History
Named in 1928 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) for David C. Witherspoon, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) topographer, "who at the time of his retirement in 1921 had mapped a greater area of Alaska than any other man."
