Description
Dewey Creek is located heads in glacier, flows W to Copper River, 6.2 mi. NE of mouth of Cleave Creek, 48 mi. E of Valdez, Chugach Mts. 5.5 miles long.
History
Named in 1898, by Captain W. R. Abercrombie, USA, after learning of the American naval victory in Manila Bay on May 1, led by Commander George Dewey, 1837-1917, U.S. Navy (USN).
