History
Indian name recorded by Lieutenant Allen (1887, p. 65-66), USA, in 1885, as Chitsletchina and (map 1) as Chistotchina. to R. H. Geoghegan, the name may be derived from, Che-les'-chi-tna, meaning "marmot creek."
