History
Named by His Royal Highness, Prince Luigi Amedeo di Savoia, Duke of the Abruzzi, in 1897, while on the summit of Mount St. Elias, for Quintino Sella, pioneer of Italian Alpinism (Filippi, 1900, p. 159).
