Description
Hanks Island is located in Orca Bay, 2.5 mi. N of Hawkins I. and 10 mi. NW of Cordova, Chugach Mts. 300 feet long.
History
Local name reported by Lieutenant Commander J. F. Moser, U.S. Navy (USN), while doing hydrographic studies along the coast of Alaska in 1897.
