Description
Tanker Island is located among the Wooded Islands, 75 mi. SE of Seward, Chugach Mts.
History
So named by the 1928 U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) field party because of the island's "likeness to an oil tanker when viewed from the southwest."
