Loon Rock is located at N entrance to Hawkins Island Cutoff, 20 mi. SW of Cordova, Chugach Mts.
History
Named in 1903 by Homer P. Ritter, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), for the family Gaviidae, birds which are found throughout the Northern Hemisphere.
