Description
Island Mountain is located trends NE 7 mi. from Faro Creek E of Mitlak Mtn., 24 mi. N of Goodnews, Kilbuck-Kuskokwim Mts.
History
Descriptive name published in 1921 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The Eskimo name is reported to be "Kikgtaguat," meaning "island like," which refers to its isolated postition.
