Description
Platinum Creek is located flows SE to Salmon River, 25 mi. NE of Cape Newenham, Kilbuck-Kuskokwim Mts.
History
Prospectors' name reported in 1933 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and published by Mertie (1940, pl. 1 and p. 59). Much mining activity has occurred along this creek since platinum was discovered on Fox Gulch, one of its tributaries, in 1926.
