Description

Johnson River is located approx. 210 mi. long; in the Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge, heads in Arhymot Lake, flows SW to enter the Kuskokwim River

History

Local name reported in 1949 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS); possibly named for Eric Johnson, prospector. The Eskimos consider this part of the Kvichavak River.
