Description
Butte Creek is located flows W to Trail Creek, 8 mi. W of Jacksmith Bay and 27 mi. N of Goodnews; Kilbuck-Kuskokwim Mts. 4 miles long.
History
Local name reported by G. L. Harrington (in Brooks, 1900, pl. 7 and p. 221), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Gold was found in this creek about 1900, and some placer mining has been done along it.
