Description
Barge Slough is located cut-off meander of Holitna River, flows NE, 6.7 mi. SE of Sleetmute, Kilbuck-Kuskokwim Mts. 2.5 miles long.
History
"Local name given because the slough serves as a protection for barges against ice before the freeze and after the break-up;" reported in 1945 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
