Description
Naniwuknuk Lake is located bend in Azum River, 7 mi. NE of mouth of Narokachik River, Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta.
History
Eskimo name, which Lieutenant Jarvis (in Revenue-Cutter Service, 1899, p. 38) reported as "a medium-sized lake, called by the natives Naniwuknuk, the outlet of which is the Azoon (Azum) River." Baker (1906, p. 453), (erroneously) wrote, "This is near Shokfaktolik lake (Aropuk Lake) or it may be the same." See Aropuk Lake.
