Description
At the mouth of Kinegnak River, 21 mi NE of Cape Newenham, Kilbuck-Kuskokwim Mountains. 5 miles wide.
History
Eskimo name published by Lieutenant Sarichev (1826, map 3) Imperial Russian Navy (IRN) as "Zaliv Chagvan." It was called "Portage Bay" on an 1899 chart by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS).
