Description
Located on the northeast shore of Turnagain Arm; 4.7 km (2.9 mi) southeast of Potter and 22.5 km (14 mi) south-southeast of Anchorage.
History
Named for Patrick Joseph Hallin (1959-1988); approved by the Alaska Historical Commission for use on State maps and other documents. The U.S. Board on Geographic Names (USBGN) rejected this name proposal in part due to the inability to define the feature, lack of evidence of a commemorative relationship with the feature, and little evidence of local acceptance of the proposed name.
