On the peninsula 3 mi. W of Chirikof Point, E coast of Attu Island, lying to the E of Alexai Pass, Aleutian Islands.
History
This name was proposed in 1944 to honor Captain Ralph D. Matthews, U.S. Army Air Forces (USAAF), killed December 26, 1943; published in 1951 on U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) Chart 9127.
