Atka is located population 119, on Nazan Bay, on E coast of Atka I., Aleutian Islands.
History
Named for Atka Island. Reported as "Atkha" by Schwatka (1885, p. 115) , USA. Recorded in 1880 as "Nazan," with a population of 236, by Petroff (10th U.S. Census, 1884, p. 16). A post office was maintained 1938-57 (Ricks, 1965, p. 5).
