Description

Sea Lion Rock is located off Reef Point, S tip of St. Paul I., in Pribilof Islands.

History

Russian name "Sivuchiy," meaning "sea=lion," translated and published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1875. Elliott (1881, p. 51) calls it "Seevitchie Kammin (sea=lion rock)." It wa published by Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 21), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN) as "K(amen) Sivuchiy," or "Sea=lion Rock."
