History
Name reported by Captain Lutke (1836, p.301), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), as "stepanovskaia"; also called "Cinder Cove" by a 1939 U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) field party "because it is adjacent to Cinder Point."
